JellyBean Bows Out
Since starting my new B&B earlier in the year – this blog has been ‘conducted’ by my dear old spaniel; Jelly Bean. Whilst many people have loved her contribution, two problems have arisen which indicate I should take over the blog from this stage on.
The first is that JB is indeed getting old and may not accompany me on many more of the wonderful walks and visits to attractions in the area that I wish to tell you about. The second is that some readers of the blog have, understandably, assumed the B&B was ‘dog friendly’ and that they would be able to bring their dogs with them for their stay. Unfortunately that is not possible. My own three dogs, and therefor all guests dogs, are banned from B&B areas to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained throughout the accommodation.
As I will be taking over the blog I would like to tell you about some of the seasonal events in the area. One such was the Christmas Fair at the Weald and Downland Museum. Two of my guests had come up from Dorset specially and many turned out to enjoy all the wonderful crafts and food on sale and down one or two glasses of Gluhwein in the process!
I gather there are still a few tickets left for the G4 concert at Chichester Cathedral on December 10th (featuring several X factor stars) and on the Christmas themed short courses at West Dean College, You may be too late to hear the Royal Marines Band at Chichester Festival Theatre (4-8th December) but do look up (visit.chichester.com) Petworth House who are staging a ‘Georgian Christmas’ from 1/12/18 to 1/1/19 in this splendid 17th century manor (housing several masterpieces by JMW Turner).
I will be back again in the New Year. In the mean time I wish all my past, present and future B&B guests (short lets also available) a VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND A WONDERFUL NEW YEAR. Patricia Kerr/Proprietress
